Keep an eye on rookie running back Anthony Dixon. There was a reason Glen Coffee out of Alabama wants to retire behind his 2.7 yards per carry average and its because I believe Dixon was going to beat him out of the backup job to Frank Gore.

This marks the debut of Redskins starter Donovan McNabb. The problem is he should have been more accurate the past few seasons with good weapons. In Washington he has very few playmakers. The running backs are very old.

This Hall of Fame NFL preseason game will begin at 8PM Eastern Time with national television provided by NBC TV.
The Bengals have more depth in the playmaking areas entering this first preseason game.
Their quarterback rotation of Carson Palmer, J.T. O’Sullivan and Jordan Palmer are a bit better than the 3 quarterbacks on the Cowboys roster behind Tony Romo.
Romo figures to go about 1 or 2 series in this game. The Cowboys #3 and #4 quarterbacks are not too experienced. Cincinnati has the same quarterback rotation as last year and only go 3 deep in this position.
More depth for the Bengals in the receiver postion with plenty of NFL experience from 1-6 on the depth chart.

The Saints secondary is not very good and I expect Peyton Manning to have an MVP type performance in this game. He is in good rythm with his receivers and has proven if Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne are double teamed he can still get the ball to his other options successfully. The Colts put up 30 points on the best pass defense in football in the Jets and the Saints are not up to this level. The Colts defense will make more stops in this game than the Saints.

The Saints explosive offense will keep the Minnesota Vikings on their heels. Reggie Bush is healthy and is a very huge big play threat when in space. Drew Brees will have things working for this team in the biggest game every played in the Superdome for the home club.
Minnesota has had huge problems on the road against quality opponents with poor performances against Arizona, Chicago and Carolina. The noise will be very difficult for the Vikings offensive line to deal with. Bret Favre had huge protection issues on the road. The Saints get the win and cover behind their offense and the noisy home field advantage.

They kick off this AFC Divisional playoff game in San Diego at 4:40PM Eastern Time and you can catch it on TV on CBS. The Jets offensive line will open holes for the Jets running backs in this contest. The Chargers are not that good in run defense and its an area of strength of the Jets. Mark Sanchez has a good deep throw and could strike for a few big plays off play action and roll outs. The Chargers offensive line will see pressure from the Jets blitzers and that will impact San Diego on third down coversions. The Jets are competitive in this game and will keep it close.
